Recently I have been working on a series of photographs that have been called paintings by many observers - this series of photos will catch the eye and cause the observer to wonder what exactly they are looking at. That makes it fun for me as well as for the observer. The series had an interesting beginning and I am not sure where it will end.
I was eating breakfast one morning and looked at the grapefruit I was eating. I saw something that was really not unknown to me before. The fruit was translucent. I held a piece up to the light of the sky and a photo appeared before me. Up to my deck with a box, a piece of glass, some fruit thinly sliced, of course, and my camera. The result of that initial image has become my ÒFruit on the SkyÓ series, which can be sen on my web site. So far the series includes tomatoes, grapefruit, lemon, orange and lime.
