For the past fifteen years, I have explored printmaking, specifically monoprints, monotypes and etchings. I am fascinated by the infinite variety of images possible in this medium. Seeking to distill the essence of experience I investigate myriad layers of perception.
The combination of photography, digital imagery and printmaking allow me to explore infinite iterations of my images. With a 35mm SLR, I photograph scenes that capture the subtext of a place, a moment, a feeling. I experiment with different films and camera settings to create nontraditional photos that connect with the subconscious. Then, using digital tools I combine my photos in layers attempting to go to deeper levels. Finally from these digital images, emerge editions of water-based etchings.
