I paint the things I dare not put into words. In the act of painting, I can be allusive. I can show without telling. I simultaneously hide and reveal. At this day and age, we expect to grasp meaning from a cursory stare, but bright colors and pretty images can be deceiving. If the viewer only throws a glance at one of my paintings, he will get a decorative facade. In order to see what is really going on, he needs to look beyond the surface. I'm interested in the little secrets that are whispered in dark corners.
