TRUE STORY
Oil and acrylic on board, 54x30", ©2000

I take it apart and put it back together until I have found as many ways as possible to recreate it. Though at times it may seem contrary to conventional wisdom, I believe I need to find my own way. Rather than utilizing preconceived concepts of the established order my task is to utilize unconventional methods to achieve my creative outcomes. My belief is," If you are still doing it like your teacher than you\'re still the student." In my work I have used everything from house paint as gesso to bed linen as canvas. I have made 3-d designs with my underwear and sculptures out of everything from found objects to marital aids. I create what I feel and sometimes it may seem offensive but I feel I have no choice. If I cannot be true to my own creative process then I wil never be able to fully explore my creative potential. In my dreams I am free from earthly constraints, in my art I aspire to be.
