I have a passion for the creative process and creating thought-provoking objects. I am also fascinated with the use of artificial lighting as a means for artistic expression. I often sketch out ideas for new works, and imagine how my technology palette of lamps, displays, enclosures, and other materials can be used expressionistically as art. This is the most exciting part of the process for me. My challenges aren't only engineering details, but the meaningfulness and aesthetics of the work: I draw upon my own life and experience to inform my work, rather than the novelty of technology alone. In my present works, I use LED lighting, ink brushwork on Lexan, and electronic circuits to paint a shifting, abstract image of light, shadow and time.
