My paintings are a vision of the landscape. They are full of movement and action. Once I have decided on an image I commit to work it as a whole in one session. This allows for the oil paint to remain wet for further manipulation. I paint the landscape in complete detail with trees, sky and light. When I have perfected the image I pour a resin on the canvas gently coaxing it to spread. The interaction of the paint and resin merges everything into one plane. This process is repeated several times so that each layer contributes to the whole desired effect of a liquid landscape.

My intentions are to capture a scene that expresses my ideas of the non-solidness or the interconnectedness of everything. I realize a landscape that is fleeting and intangible by blurring and blending trees with the sky and other surroundings, and using exaggerated color. Through this process I can create images that are as ephemeral as one's memory of an experienced moment spent in the beauty and grandeur of nature.
