A member can choose to renew in one of two ways:

• Pay membership dues in full at one time —
  due no later than January 15, 2008

• Pay membership dues in two installments —
  1st installment due no later than January 15, 2008;
  2nd installment due no later than March 15, 2008

NOTE: Membership dues for 2008 are $250.

Financial Assistance
If you would like to request financial assistance, please notify LAAA by December 15, 2007. A LAAA Scholarship Application will be sent to you upon request only. Limited scholarships are available. Applications are due 1/5/08 at 5p.

Active Membership Defined
If you want to remain an active member, you are required to renew your dues each year in full. If dues are not paid, your membership will expire. Members with expired status who would like to reinstate their membership will be required to submit to the membership screening in January or July of that year.

Volunteering
The support from our membership volunteers is emphatically appreciated by our Staff and Board. Volunteer support explicitly enhances the ability of our limited staff to better serve our mission and community.

The Volunteer Program provides LAAA members with a variety of opportunities to get involved in their organization, meet fellow members, interact with the public and support your organization. It is required for each LAAA member to participate in this program by providing a minimum of six (6) hours of volunteer time per year.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• Gallery Preparation: including patching and painting
• Serving at events, programs and exhibitions
• Assisting with Membership Screening
• Mailings
• Selling artwork at openings and events
• Gallery maintenance and construction, ie. use your trade skills to make general repairs, upgrades and construction
• Join an LAAA Committee such as the Development and Communications Committee, Film and Video 825 Committee, Program Committee, Gem Show Committee. (For more information on committees please inquire with an LAAA Staff member.)

NEW: In response to the number of artist members unable to fulfill volunteer hours, LAAA Members may now opt out of Volunteering by paying an additional $50 in yearly membership dues.
